I once knew a poet 我曾经认识一个诗人

Who lived before his time 谁他之前住

He and his dog spooner 他和他的狗斯普纳

Would listen while he'd rhyme 会听，而他会押韵

Words to make ya happy 也就是说，使亚快乐

Words to make you cry 也就是说让你哭泣

Then one day the poet suddenly did die 后来有一天，诗人忽然没死

   

But he left behind a closet 但他留下的衣柜

Filled with verse and rhyme 充满诗韵

One was printed in the times 一个是印在时代

And everybody's searchin' 而且每个人都Searchin的

For the king of underground 对于地下之王

Well they found him down in Florida 那么，他们发现他倒在佛罗里达州

With a tombstone for a crown 有墓碑冠

   

Everybody knows a line 大家都知道，一条线

From his book that cost four ninety-nine 从他的书，花费4 99

I wonder if he knows he's doin' 我不知道他是否知道他干什么

Quite this fine 这相当精细

   

'cause his books are all best sellers “因为他的书都是畅销书

And his poems were turned to song 他的诗被拒绝歌曲

Had his brother on a talk show 在一个脱口秀节目有他的兄弟

Though they never got along 虽然他们从来没有一起

And now he's called immortal 而现在，他被称为不死

Yes he's even taught in school 是的，他甚至在学校任教

A most proficient tool 最精通的工具
