I went to church last Sunday 我去教堂的最后一个星期日

So I could sing and pray 所以我可以唱歌，祈祷

But something quite unusual 可是，我相当不寻常

Happened on that day 事情发生在那一天

   

Now church it started right on time 现在，教会就开始准时

Just like it does without a doubt 就像它毫无疑问

And everything was all just fine 一切一切都只是罚款

Except when it came time to let us out 除非是时候让我们出去

   

You know the preacher he kept preaching 你知道一个劲的传道人讲道

He told us I have one more thing to say 他告诉我们，我有一件事要说

Children before you think of leaving 当你想要离开的孩子

You better think about the Judgment Day 你最好想想审判日

   

Now everyone got nervous 现在大家都太紧张了

Because everyone was hungry too 因为大家都饿了

And everyone was wondering 每个人都在想，

What was the next thing he would do 什么是未来的事情，他会做

   

And the preacher he kept preaching 并一个劲的传道人讲道

He said now I'll remind you if I may 他说，现在我会提醒你，如果我可以

You all better pay attention 大家可要注意

Or I might decide to preach all day 或者，我可以决定宣讲整天

   

And now everyone was getting so hungry 现在每个人都变得这么饿

That the old ones started feeling ill 那旧的开始感觉不适

And the weak ones started passing out 而弱者开始传递出

And the young ones they could not sit still 而年轻的他们不能坐以待毙

   

And the preacher's voice rose higher 和牧师的声音不断地高涨

So I snuck up on the balcony 于是，我悄悄起来在阳台上

And I crept into the choir 我蹑手蹑脚进了合唱团

And I begged them brothers, sisters, help me please 我恳求他们的兄弟姐妹，帮我请

   

I said when I give you a signal 我说，当我给你的信号

I said when I raise up my hand 我说，当我举起我的手

Won't you please join with me together 会不会请你跟我一起加入

And praise the Lord I have a plan 赞美主，我有一个计划

   

And the preacher he kept preaching 并一个劲的传道人讲道

Long is the struggle, hard the fight 长时间的奋斗，艰苦的战斗

And I prayed, Father please forgive me 我祈祷，神父请原谅我

And then I stood up and with all my might 然后我站起来，我所有的力量

I sang 我唱

   

To the Lord let praises be 以主让赞美会

It's time for dinner now let's go eat 这是吃晚饭的时间，现在让我们去吃饭

We've got some beans and some good cornbread 我们已经有了一些豆类和一些好的玉米饼

And I listened to what the preacher said 我听了牧师说的话

Now it's to the Lord let praised be 现在是到了主让被称赞

It's time for dinner now let's go eat 这是吃晚饭的时间，现在让我们去吃饭

   

Yes and I did give a signal 是的，我的确给的信号

Yes and I raised up my hands 是的，我提出了我的手

And then joined with me the choir 然后加入与我合唱团

Yes every woman, child, and man 是每一个女人，孩子和男人

They sang 他们唱

   

To the Lord let praised be 到主让被称赞

It's time for dinner now let's go eat 这是吃晚饭的时间，现在让我们去吃饭

We've got some beans and some good cornbread 我们已经有了一些豆类和一些好的玉米饼

And I've listened to what the preacher said 我已经听牧师说的话

Now it's to the Lord let praised be 现在是到了主让被称赞

It's time for dinner now let's go eat 这是吃晚饭的时间，现在让我们去吃饭

   

And the preacher he stopped preaching 他停下牧师讲道

And a hush the church did fill 和一个嘘的教会并填写

And then a great white dove from up above 然后一个伟大的白鸽从上述

Landed on the window sill 落在窗台上

   

And the dove flew down beside him 而鸽子飞到他身边

And a fork appeared right in his hand 和叉子在他的右手出现

And with everybody watching 并与大家收看

The preacher ate that bird right there and then 传道人吃了那只鸟就在那里，然后

   

And now everyone got really nervous 现在每个人都得到了很紧张

And the preacher he did start to glow 和布道者，他也开始焕发

And as we watched in disbelief 当我们看到难以置信

These were the words he spoke 这些都是他讲的话

   

He said now Mama's in the kitchen 他在厨房里，现在妈妈的说

And she's been there all day 而她在那里一整天

And I know she's cooking something good 我知道她的厨艺好东西

So let's bow our heads and pray 因此，让我们低头祷告

And he sang 他唱

And the moral of this story 而这个故事的寓意

Children it is plain but true 孩子们很平淡，但却是事实

God knows if a preacher preaches long enough 上帝知道，如果一个牧师讲道足够长的时间

Even he'll get hungry too 甚至他会得到饿了

And he'll sing 他会唱
