These dendritic NOBIN derived Schiff base ligands have been applied to titanium catalyzed hetero-Diels-Alder reaction of Danishefshy's diene and aldehydes, affording the corresponding 2-substituted 2, 3-dihydro-4H-pyran-4-one in quantitative yields and excellent enantioselectivities (up to 97. 2%ee). Comparing the reactivities and enantioselectivities of reaction catalyzed by the titanium complexes of these Schiff base ligands, it was found that a series of ligands L〓 were superior to the other three series of ligands L〓, L〓 and L〓, a significant positive NLE and a dendrimer effect existed in the L〓 dendritic catalyst system. The disposition of the dendritic wedges and the dendron size in the ligands were observed to have a significant impact on the enantioselectivity of the reaction.

At the heavy metal concentration of 3-4ppm, our study on adsorption capacity, adsorption selectivity of montmorillonite, illite and kaolinite to Cu〓、 Pb〓、 Zn〓、 Cd〓、 Cr〓 shows that the adsorption capacity is mainly determined by the capacity of exchangeable cations and the adsorption capacity of the three clay minerals decreases in this sequence: montmorillonite >> illite>kaolinite. It is found that clay minerals have obvious adsorption selectivity to various heavy metals. Montmorillonite exhibits a stronger affinity to Cr〓 and Cu〓 while kaolinite and illite sorb Cr〓 and Pb〓 more effectively. At the same heavy metal concentration, adsorption amount of clay minerals to heavy metals increase with increasing pH value of the solution.

The results show that the maximum growth quantity of Nocardia can be achieved after culturing 120 h and obvious selective adsorption of Nocardia on the surface of pyrite and sphalerite can be detected. The maximum adsorption rate on the surface of pyrite is 96.99%, whereas it is less than 20% in the case of sphalerite. Adsorption equilibrium can be attained within 20 min on the surfaces of the two minerals. pH value is the key factor influencing upon selective adsorption, and the difference of adsorption quantity on the surfaces of two minerals is apparent when pH is between 4 and 10. Slurry concentration over 6 g/L is favorable to selective adsorption. Nocardia cell concentration, stirring speed and temperature have no obviously effect on selective adsorption.
