The utilization of the 1981 IRRDB Hevea germplasm is very slow in China. For further characterization and evaluation of the germplasm, an analysis was made to evaluate the characteristics of latex regeneration and latex flow of the new Amazon Hevea germplasm by the method of latex diagnosis. Nine accessions of the germplasm were determined in terms of physiological parameters such as yield, initial flow rate, plug index, sucrose, thiols, phosphorus, magnesium, etc, with RRIM600 as the control.

The research advances in genetic relationships of peach germplasm, including the morphologic, cytology, palynology, biochemistry and DNA molecular markers, were reviewed in this paper. The actuality, prospect and urgent problems of peach germplasm resources were also discussed. To further study the genetic relationships of wildness, sib wildness and cultivar groups of peach, we may resort on genetic markers and DNA sequence analysis in addition to morphological characters.

Germplasm resources. According the result of UPGMA cluster analysis based on ISSR makers, the tested materials could be divided into five groups at the level of D=0.68. First group including 18 germplasm materials is the Yellow sweet Spanish system. Second group including one germplasm material is Bejo Dyatona cultivar. Third group including 3 germplasm materials is the Yellow Globe system. Fourth group including 9 germplasm materials is the Yellow Globe Danvers system. Fifth group including one germplasm material is the Yellow Danvers system.
