In this dissertation, we have developed optimal collective communication library CAMPI for campus area based on MPI collective communication operation and have taken hierarchical network structure into account. In CAMPI, the number of clusters in system must be specified. We also must show which process belongs to which cluster.

A rapid method was provided to evaluate the damage efficiency issue based on vulnerability analysis of the carrier plane group and using the pixel-simulation method, and a computation simulation model of the carrier plane groups under the attacking of submunition was established.

In terms of memory hierarchy, we investigated how to improve the cache hit rate and localize data according to the characteristics of cache, master memory, local disk and remote disk in cluster systems. As for communication, features of cluster systems and different cluster internal networks are examined. Two popular parallel programming models - message passing model and share memory model - are analyzed in terms of how do they affect the cluster performance and how can we improve the cluster performance.
