The cattleya cut flower treated with 0.1 ppm, 1 ppm and 5 ppm ethylene for 24 hrs at 25℃compared with the control. The control had normal flower at 2nd day after treating, but 0.1ppm ethylene treatment had slight wilt in the petal and still had ornamental value. Treatments with 1 ppm and 5 ppm ethylene had complete wilt in the corolla and lost ornamental value. The treatments with different concentration of ethylene caused considerable flower senescence, the decrease of water uptake and fresh weight of cattleya cut flower in the vase. Data showed that cattleya cut flower was one of orchids very sensitive to ethylene response.

After 3 months storage, our result showed that (1) color a value of rose liqueur with sucrose treatment had a slower decreased than with fructose treatment,(2) the sample added with caffeic acid or ferulic acid or tea polyphenol showed no significant difference in the color, anthocyanins content, and antioxidant capacity during storage as compared to control, and (3) the total amount of volatile compounds of rose liqueur decreased gradually, however there was one ester volatile formed, hexadecanoic ethyl ester, during storage.

The antibiotic treatments with 100 mg/L Rifampicin and 100 mg/L Gentamycin could reduce internal contaminants, while the addition of antibiotics into medium in vitro culture led to phototoxic phenomena of axillary explants, morphogenetic potential lost and the growth of regenerant was also inhibited.
