The effects of emulsions, pigments, conventional fillers, heat-insulation fillers and film thickness on the reflection and heat-insulation properties under infrared lamp are investigated in order to find the best materials for the heat-insulation coatings. It is found that both the titanium dioxide with high refractive index and the diatomite powder with micro pores possess the optimal reflection and heat-insulation properties, calcium carbonate also has sonic heat-insulation effect. However, the filler such as meerschaum, which in theory possesses the effect, has not shown heat-insulation function.

Since there exists some disadvantages such as poor mechanic properties and much higher burning rate pressure exponents (?1) in the fundamental formulations, this work is devoted to the improvements of combustion characteristics and mechanic properties of LOVA propellants. The effects of the crystal shape, size and contents of nitroamine particles, the types of binder, plasticizer and surface-active agents and the contents of NC on combustion performance are studied by closed bomb tests. In the mechanic properties tests, the effects of the types of binders, plasticizers and solid fillers, the interaction between binders and solid fillers and technological procedures on propellant mechanic properties are researched.

In order to illustrate the phenomena occurred in the technological experiments, the infiltration dynamics of liquid aluminum into porous media was simulated in accordance with the laws of similitude. The results show that (1) the relation between the displacement of infiltration front and the advancing time is 〓;(2) the pressure of infiltration changes with time according to 〓;(3) the distribution of pressure in the direction of infiltration length is P=a〓+b〓L.(4) the change of temperature or viscosity of molten aluminum affects infiltration velocity in fillers of diameter in the range of 1. 5~5. 5mm very little, but this velocity in fillers of diameter 0.5mm is reduced with the decrease of AL temperature.
