This paper mainly reviews the overseas' empirical research about the independence of central bank, and introduces Alex Cukierman and other scholars' methods which quantifies the independence of central bank, it studies the relation between the inflation and independence of central bank by comparing inflations of different countries in different periods, and provides that the independence of central bank is basic of currency stability which is the most important function of central bank.
